Instead of bowling after Bible Study/GTS, all of Kairos headed up north in Berkeley to Cordonices Park. We slid down the steep stone slide (on a piece of cardboard), played frisbee (glow in the dark), explored a dark tunnel, and had awesome snacks. Here’s a video recap of the slide, with our leader Tim performing a perfect dismount, Kairos lead, Sue Yi, having second thoughts going down the slide, and… the “marshmallow middle”!
UPDATE: For the brothers, we’ve unfortunately canceled the Saturday outing. However, we’ll still be getting together.
We’re going to Val’s (a great mom & pop burger place!) in Castro Valley, then heading back to Alameda for some time of sports/studying. You decide. So come and hang out with us!

We’ve talked about it… and now the time is finally here! This Saturday (3/14) all the Kairos guys will be getting together to go to Santa Cruz (Mt. Hermon) for a time of adventure and fun. We’re going to be going on a ropes course and do some indoor rock climbing. There will also be time of football and frisbee, too. If that’s not enough, we’re going to end the day at the beach with a bonfire and awesome food. So you missed out last beach trip? No fret, this will be the ultimate relaxation day, after your midterms!
My thesis project and school work has been pretty intense thus far, so you’ll definitely see me there to unwind and de-stress!

Sisters Dimsum & SF Trip

Here they are, the highly anticipated pics from last month’s Kairos 3 & 4 Christmas Gift Exchange. When we combine, you know you’re in for a night of crazy fun. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Where else will you find yummy food, and people showcasing their large hands, break-dancing skills, double-jointed-ness, salesman pitches, Jenga skills, and arm wrestling fierceness all for the sake of securing the best $5 gift? No doubt it’s here!

Quick update:
We’ll be having dinner tonight at Lotus House on Durant (near the Durant Food Court) at 6:30pm. After that we’ll all head over to First Presbyterian Church at 7:30pm for Bible Study with the rest of Kairos, A2F, and Koinonia fellowships. We have a special outdoor element surprise post-bible study so you won’t want to miss it!
So dress warm, and be sure to bring a LED light or a small flashlight if you have one. 
Finals are upon us. Hope you guys are all hanging in there!

This past Friday’s post bible study fun was to take the Fenton’s Challenge. Eat the ginormous 3 scoop-banana split ice cream in 20 minutes (even all the melted stuff has to be eaten), and you get a t-shirt! The waitress awaits our orders. Are we in or are we out?
Many have tried, and few have succeeded. The challengers? Brittany, Jully, Rich Yen, and Riley. The spectators? Tim, Zach, Monica, and Rich Dongses. Waaay too much ice cream for me, for sure!
So this is what it looked like (middle, right). Monica and I were quite happy with our smaller single scoops (left).
Funny how the friendly challenges turned into a girl vs. guy thing, too.
So was anyone actually able to finish in 20 minutes? Drum roll please…
Brittany did it! Congrats!
And Jully was a close 2nd. If only she had a few more minutes, she would have had it, too! Sorry Riley… I don’t think that counts…
So in the end… the girls took the gold. Alright… wait until next time, us guys are going to go into training!
We will be having a special event on Friday called “Mission Night”, where we will learn, watch videos, and hear stories how God has worked in our lives from all the different summer mission trips that members and college students from Gracepoint Fellowship Church went on. Many of your fellow Kairos 4 staffers went on these trips over the summer like Taiwan, Cambodia, and Kyrgyzstan.
We will start off with our usual dinner at the YWCA this Friday @ 6pm.
Afterwards, we’ll walk together to First Presbyterian Church where we will join up with 2 other campus fellowships, Koinonia, and A2F for Mission Night. Hope to see you there! It’s going to be an eye-opening night for sure!
Man I’m really looking forward to our half-day trip to the Muir Woods this Saturday! Aren’t y’all itching to get out of your rooms, out of the library, away from the computer screen to get some fresh air? (raises hand)
Where else would be a better place to get fresh air than in the rustic Muir Woods, one of the Bay Area’s most beautiful destinations! I’m super excited about this trip. It’ll be a refreshing light hike through the woods, a nice lunch (on us!), and an opportunity to meet people and just hang out!
Well, I hope that many people come! See you all bright and early at Unit 1 (Durant side), 9:30am! I’ll bring a frisbee and a football… maybe we can all play at lunchtime!
What? Say it faster… Does it sound like another English phrase? High Moan Leak Hidden!!! Give up? “I’m only kiddin’.” Crazy, huh? That was the gist of our post Bible study game on Friday night, called Mad Gab.
3 teams, a stack of cards with random words strung together, a timer, and ultimate mad gab mayhem. Each team tried to guess the phrases by reading the random words out loud and listening to each other say it fast, slur it, enunciate certain syllables, etc. Who knew English could be so fun?
Let’s try a few more: “Zola Reek Lips.” (and how about the ones in the pic?)
