GTS
Be sure to sign up for a GTS (Gracepoint Training School) class that everybody will be taking on Friday nights. No, you don’t get units. 
They are just like our regular Bible studies, but they each are geared towards specific crowds so that we all can get the most out of God’s words. We will meet together as Kairos 4 for dinner, then head over to First Presbyterian Church together (near Unit 3), for a time of praise, then break off to our specific courses. Valentine’s Day of Compassion
Wanted to let you know about a tradition our church and campus fellowships had started a few years back. Valentine’s Day has become a day that’s overhyped with romantic love notions, which sadly leaves a LOT of people feeling left behind. What our church as a whole has decided to do was to bring love and compassion to the most forgotten people in our communities, to bring a day of joy into their lives of difficult circumstances. This includes folks at nursing homes, at homeless and transition shelters, battered women shelters, Salvation Army centers, etc.
Kairos 2 and 4 are joining forces this Saturday to bring an afternoon of joy to the children (ages K-12) of families at a transition center in Oakland… These are homeless families that are given a place to stay for a month while they try to find themselves somewhere more stable.
Our program is going to be from 2-4pm, but we’ll need to do some prep work beforehand. So we’re going to meet at Dana House (2440 Dana/Dwight) at 11:30… it’s BYOL (bring your own lunch), or just come having eaten.
Then, AFTERwards, we’ll be having a lot of fun and the Kairos staff will be providing a great dinner for y’all… more info on that to come! But it’ll be a very full day of both meaningful work as well as lots of fun fellowship!
